TCM Product Family

The FOERSTER TCM Product Family is a modular mobile platform designed to cover a wide range of eddy current testing applications within a single device. Instead of using separate instruments for different inspection tasks, users can configure the TCM through dedicated app modules such as DEFECTOSCOP TCM for crack detection and wall thickness measurement, SIGMATEST TCM for electrical conductivity measurement, ECA TCM for large-area inspection with sensor arrays, and ECMEASURE TCM for trainable, application-specific measurements. This app-based architecture enables flexible use across different industries and inspection scenarios while maintaining a consistent user interface and data concept.

With its robust mobile hardware, intuitive touchscreen operation, automatic probe recognition, and comprehensive documentation capabilities, the TCM is built for fast setup, reliable measurements, and full traceability in demanding field and industrial environments. The platform supports both FOERSTER and third-party probes, allowing users to adapt the system to existing workflows and expand its functionality over time. Backed by FOERSTER’s long-standing expertise in eddy current testing and global service network, the TCM represents a future-ready solution for flexible, precise, and repeatable non-destructive testing.

SIGMATEST

The FOERSTER SIGMATEST is a portable eddy current instrument designed for accurate and reliable measurement of the electrical conductivity of non-ferromagnetic metals. It is used to determine physical and technical material properties in applications such as quality control of manufactured products, verification of material combinations, sorting of metals, alloys and scrap, aircraft maintenance, heat damage assessment, and in-process controls within metallurgy and production environments. With five selectable measuring frequencies from 60 kHz to 960 kHz, SIGMATEST offers high measurement precision, including on very thin workpieces.

The device provides flexible operation in Touch mode for single-point measurements and Continuous mode for surface scanning, supported by recording functions for measurement documentation. Integrated internal and external temperature compensation allows conductivity values to be standardized to 20°C, improving measurement reliability under varying conditions. Additional features such as automatic probe recognition, SD-card data storage, Ethernet-based remote control, a robust field-ready design, and compliance with relevant aerospace and conductivity measurement standards make SIGMATEST a proven solution for precise, traceable, and repeatable conductivity testing.

SONODUR Product Family

The FOERSTER SONODUR Product Family offers high-quality mobile hardness testing solutions based on UCI — Ultrasonic Contact Impedance — and Leeb measuring technologies for fast, reliable, and largely non-destructive hardness testing on metallic components and materials. The product range is designed as a practical supplement to conventional hardness testing methods, especially for applications where mobility, accessibility, and fast measurement results are essential. Thanks to compact SONO probes and sensors, SONODUR systems can be used effectively on complex component geometries, difficult test positions, installed parts, weld seams, cut edges, thin-walled components, and production-related quality control tasks.

The SONODUR portfolio includes SONODUR 3 for mobile on-site hardness testing, SONODUR R for automated mass production and 100% process monitoring, and SONODUR 3 LITE LEEB for essential mobile Leeb hardness testing applications. With a flexible range of hand and motor probes offering different test forces from 1 N to 98 N, the system can be adapted to various materials, geometries, and inspection requirements. Standardized according to DIN 50159 and ASTM A1038 for UCI testing, SONODUR provides high measurement accuracy, repeatability, small indentation size, and robust usability for industrial applications such as incoming goods inspection, mix-up testing, production control, quality assurance, maintenance, and automated hardness testing.

MAGNATEST TCL

The FOERSTER MAGNATEST TCL is a compact and intelligent test channel line designed for magneto-inductive testing of safety-critical components, particularly for material and microstructure inspection in series production. It enables fully automated, non-destructive 100% inspection of metallic components and can also be used for manual quality assurance applications, such as laboratory testing. The system is especially suitable for detecting material mix-ups, heat treatment variations, hardness-related structural differences, and other microstructural deviations that may affect component reliability and process stability.

The MAGNATEST TCL consists of the TCL test channel and a PC-based testing software environment, with optional industrial PC and interface modules for automated line integration. Its compact design allows installation either in an equipment cabinet or directly in the production line, helping to keep cable lengths short between the sensor system and the test channel and thereby improving test quality. With an intuitive touch-optimized software interface, parameter setup wizard, automatic probe recognition, broad frequency range from 4 Hz to 20 MHz, fundamental and harmonic evaluation, PLC triggering options, password protection, graphical result display, and reporting functions, MAGNATEST TCL provides a robust and efficient solution for repeatable, traceable, and process-integrated component testing.
