About us

Since the foundation of FOCUS in 1990, a highly educated and motivated team of physicists and engineers in co-operation with external partners ensures that FOCUS products always meet the latest demands of science and the high technology branches in long term.

In 2007 we firmly established ourselves on the market with the launch of the MICROBEAM - a unique electron beam generator with precise beam control.
Based on MICROBEAM, we present FOCUS POWERBEAM series, precise electron beam welding machines for best performance in a micro range.

In addition to electron beam welding machines, we introduced laser in vacuum welder FOCUS LaVa, new technic that combines the well-known benefits of laser welding with those of a low-pressure environment.

All products are developed, manufactured and tested in-house. This holds for the physical vacuum components, the electron optical components as well as the related electronics and software.

LaVa machine series provide a new technic that combines the well-known benefits of laser welding with those of a low-pressure environment. Welding machine could be equipped with different types of laser in wide power range, adding the vacuum environment allows to get much more stable keyhole without vapor plume and spatter.
